The team is primarily funded by the generosity of businesses, organizations, coaches and parents who believe in our mission! Cash is our greatest need which covers administrative expenses, bicycle maintenance, training equipment, travel expenses, nutrition for our riders, team awards and so much more. We receive zero funding from our school district and rely solely on donations and contributions.

Please email dustslingermtb@gmail.com if interested in volunteer coaching or sponsorship this season and check out our Sponsorship Form Page.

Dust Slinger has over 35 kids signed up so far and a bunch of awesome things in the works! Commitment is really up to each individual coach and how much they are able to be involved, so you can really choose what works best for your schedule. It’s a ton of fun though so everyone gets pretty excited and more involved as time goes on. The official season and practices begin in January and practices are primarily held around Lake Hodges on Tuesday & Thursday evenings during the week and Saturday mornings on the weekend unless it’s one of the 6 races weekends.

Our team is primarily funded by the generosity of businesses who believe in our mission to:

  • Provide students who have the desire to mountain bike with the coaching and camaraderie that will help them achieve both competitive and non‐competitive cross‐country mountain biking goals in a safe and enjoyable manner;

  • Develop an awareness of what it is to be an amateur athlete that is both gracious and respectful to their community;

  • Create an environment in which they may discover new friendships and find role models;

  • Guide students towards learning new skills and disciplines, and spread the foundations of mountain bike racing across the U.S.;

  • Foster a responsible attitude toward the use of trails and wilderness;

  • Promote the value of cycling to our community as a mode of transportation and as a lifelong sport.

High school mountain biking began in Northern California in the year 2000 and has spawned into one of the most anticipated and talked‐about MTB race series in the nation. The National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA www.nationalmtb.org), founded in 2009, develops interscholastic mountain biking programs for student‐athletes across the United States. Our team competes with NICA as part of the SoCal League (www.socaldirt.org) which also had its first season in 2009. The league is working to make high school racing the easiest way for youth to get involved in the challenging and exciting world of competitive cycling.

Will you join us? We have several ways your business can partner with us. In addition to cash, we welcome and appreciate product sponsorships ‐ for example: cases of drinking water, rider nutrition, first‐aid kits, 2‐way radios, bicycles & gear, trail maintenance equipment/tools (shovels, hoes, etc.), and other services and/or products that would support our team. However, cash is our greatest need.

Please consider one of the four ways you can partner with our team on the following Sponsorship Form Page. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
